Note that help files included in this version have some themes and images still in Spanish.
How to install:
Download the installer setup.exe and save it in your PC (23MB).
You can verify that this file is digitally signed by Instituto de Desarrollo Tecnologico S.L.
Run the setup.exe file and go on through the installation process. No options need to be changed.
After installation, a Docal System icon is placed on your Desktop.
Double-click on it and wait a few seconds.
You will be asked to give a license, or choose one of the following:
Create a Demo License for 30 days (Enterprise Edition, Full)
Create a Demo License for 30 days (Standard Edition, for small bussiness)
Create a Personal license for private use (several features are limited)
Choose the option that best fits your needs. Here you have some information about editions.
Next, the IDT - Connection configuration for SQL Server/Oracle screen will be displayed.
It is divided in several steps:
Engine: leave SQL Server checked (choose Oracle only if you have an Oracle Server and have an updated version of the Oracle OLEDB Provider installed in your PC).
Server name: the name of your PC is displayed by default (recommended for a demo).
If you don't have SQL Server Desktop installed in your PC, a Install MSDE 2000 button will be displayed (MSDE 2000 is a free version of SQL Server Desktop).
You can push this button twice to get MSDE 2000 installed:
The first one you will be asked about downloading this product from Microsoft and (IMPORTANT) save it in C:\ (no other folder should be used).
After downloading, the second time you push this button you will have the opportunity to get MSDE 2000 installed.
Mode: leave Auto.
Try the connection: click Try now and look the anwer in the status bar at the botton of the screen.
If you are asked for user and password, just click OK.
If connection is possible, buttons in steps 5 and 6 will be activated.
Create database: click the button to create your first Docal database.
You can create more than one database if you want.
Later you will login to every Docal database with user Admin and password Z
(Optional) Create example: (still spanish) click the button to create a new database and load it with several documents and users.
A second window with red background will be displayed for a few seconds.
Later you will login to this Example with user Admin and password Z1 (not just Z).
Once all steps have been completed, closing the window will show the Docal System login screen.
F1 key is available for help.
We recommend to search for "Logic Steps to start up Sistema Docal" which states what the order should be when creating items inside a Docal database.
From now on, you can login directlly from the Docal System icon on your Desktop.
