SISTEMA DOCAL Training, Support and Demos using NetMeeting
The Internet and this Microsoft free program have become our main tool to give support and training to our customers, and also to offer on-line interactive demos.
Netmeeting allows to share the PC screen while having a voice conversation, so it's a perfect choice for Training, Support and Demos.
Requirements
To use this service, you need a PC with:
- Microphone and Speakers (if necessary, these can be replaced by a hands-free telephone).
- Microsoft NetMeeting: it's pre-installed in Windows 2000, XP and 2003 Server.
If you have Windows Vista, please contact us so we can tell you how to download and install the Vista version.
- Direct connection to the Internet: advanced features of NetMeeting can't pass through some firewalls.
If you are inside a corporate network, you should probably ask TI Dpt. to configure the firewall in order to allow Netmeeging connections.
How do I ask IDT for a Netmeeging connection?

How do I configure NetMeeting?
We recommend to plug in microphone and speakers before starting NetMeeting for the first time.
To start NetMeeting:
- In your Windows Desktop, go to Start / Run, type in CONF and click OK (if the program doesn't start after 10-20 seconds, use Windows Explorer to find the file C:\Program files\Netmeeting\Conf.exe and double-click on it).
- NetMeeting will ask for personal identification including e-mail.
We recommend that you type in only your name and surname, and use a dot for the e-mail address.
- When you are asked to connect to a Directory Service, uncheck the checkboxes.
- When you are asked for your connection speed, select DSL/Cable.
- Follow the instructions to configure volume for your microphone and speakers.
(NOTE: NetMeeting allows to use a webcam, but it isn't necessary to get suport or training from IDT).
After 10-20 seconds, the NetMeeging window will be displayed with a flashing cursor at the top.
That's where you must type in the DNS you will have received from us.
To make the call, click the yellow telephone in the right.
